Electrostatics

Have you ever reached out to shake somebody's hand, and instead felt a shock? The culprit here is electrostatics. In fact, most of the physical phenomena we experience in daily life is because of electrostatics. From TV signals to chemical reactions, it is all around us.
Electrostatics deals with any charged object that is at rest. Once the charge is moving however, magnetic effects are introduced. See the magnetic explorations for these types of problems.

Field Lines

This project started as an exploration to see if we could use the computer to draw field lines. After several unsuccessful attempts with Microsoft Excel, I decided to employ Interactive Physics. Even though it couldn't draw the exact field lines, I learned that I had accidentally gone along with one of the big misconceptions about field lines.
